IRCC Immigration Backlogs


Recent IRCC Update: The Backlog exceeds 1 Million.

The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada on August 29, 2024, released the latest recent figures on the backlog of immigration applications. 

According to this data, there were 2,364,700 citizenship, immigration, and visa applications pending as of July 31. This data is usually month-by-month retrospective. 

Furthermore, the backlog of applications that exceed typical IRCC service criteria has surpassed 1 million for the first time since November 2022, reaching 1,002,400. The data includes a variety of application categories, such as citizenship, permanent residence, and temporary residence.

Reducing backlog
We are taking steps to lessen the backlog of applications in our inventories. Our goal is to handle 80% of applications according to our service standards. This allows for foreseeable delays in some really difficult cases or when we require additional information from our clients before we can finalize their files.
